PROCEDURE

IN A PORTRAIT A PERSON WHO HAS EXPERIENCE WITH BREAKING OR ULULATING VOICES SPEAKS FOR 20 TO 30 MINUTES. THE FORM CAN BE A VIDEO OR A PUBLIC LIVE PRESENTATION.

THE PORTRAIT IS VERBAL. THE FOCUS IS ON AN ORAL TRANSMISSION WITH SPACE FOR THE DEMONSTRATION OF SONGS OR SAMPLES. THE OUTLINE OF THE PORTRAIT IS BASED ON AN INTERVIEW THAT MYRIAM VAN IMSCHOOT CONDUCTED AND THAT IS REWORKED TO BECOME AN INDEPENDENT RENDITION DELIVERED BY THE INTERVIEWEE.

THE INTEREST IS HOW VOICE PRACTICES ARE TRANSMITTED AND NEST IN LIVES. WHAT DRIVES US WHEN WE ENGINEER OUR IDENTITIES, TRANSFORMATION AND BE/LONGING? WHAT LANDSCAPES LIVE IN A VOICE?

DEPENDING ON THE CONTEXT AND LOGISTICS, PORTRAITS ARE PRESENTED IN DIFFERENT WAYS (VIDEO, INSTALLATION, PERFORMANCE).
