Since her early teens Myrte Dam lives with a nerve disease that partially paralyses her. A self-trained yodeler, Myrte focuses on speed yodeling as a vocal work-out and medical support. She believes that daily practice and automating yodel singing can overrule the central brain functions so that whatever shortcircuits on that level may occur, she will keep an access to yodeling. But most of all it's her "prosac" and passion, a short cut into joy and friendship. In this clip here, extracted from an interview with Myriam Van Imschoot, she covers a song with lyrics of her own, dedicated to her guide dog. Myrte hopes to appear in a television talent show and bring her yodeling to audiences.
